Ireland - Friday 6/2 - Part 1
After a sumptuous breakfast of Irish Rarebit we made our way to the Cliffs of Moher. We got there on the early side so we were able to hike all along them. It’s magnificent landscape - Photos don’t do it justice but here are some attempts…
The barriers and walkways at the Cliffs are made from local slate that was once under the sea so it has all these worm and eel squiggles in it.
We realized if we were speedy we could take the ferry over to the island of Inisheer.
The weather has been absolutely glorious - Sunny and 70 degrees. The Irish (and most tourists) are all in shorts and tank tops. But being on the ferry was windy and cold. Mike and I had our hoodies on. I’m sure we looked crazy.
Banshees of Inisherin was filmed on Inishmore - a nearby island but not this one.
But here’s the Beaches of Inisheer!
Inisheer is 1.5 kilometers square and has 3 pubs. We chose one to have lunch.
More in part 2!
