Ireland - Wednesday 5/31 - Part 1

Dingle!!

What a charming town. We started the day with a walk around town - First seeing a marker for a Celtic holy well from 2000 years ago. If you look close you can see people put coins in it.

(We happened to walk by it later in the day and the coins were still there - Honest folk the Dingle townspeople.)

We passed the courthouse where they have a judge in town once a month to settle disputes. Once a month!

We also stopped by a fairly modern church (St. Mary’s) that has a convent with some gorgeous stain glass in its chapel by Irish artist Harry Clarke.

We also visited the nuns gardens and cemetery in the back where the mothers and sisters rest under a gorgeous copper beech tree.

After a bit more strolling around the shops and port area we decided to drive the Dingle peninsula loop. Much shorter than the ring of Kerry but some spectacular views!

Some of what looks like rocks are sheep - They don’t know how good they have it!

We stopped for lunch in Ballyferriter - One of the most west towns of Europe. Met a young guy from Massachusetts who has moved here permanently.

We tried a local craft beer that I can’t pronounce but we sat looking at the hills that their logo references.
